My car came with aluminum trim, and trying to swap out to black aluminum trim. I am having troubles swapping out the center console trim. I have been using the plastic trim removal tool, but really can't get the trim to budget (except the two on the rears).

After looking at bunch of DIY videos and forums, seems like the plastic trims are easy to remove. Little information on the aluminum trims.

Anybody have tips/tricks/pointers?

I replaced mine with an OEM Carbon one.

So remove the two side pieces (mine are vinyl covered) entirely.

Then level off the aluminium cover starting at the climate control end. Its an aluminium 'veneer' on a plastic piece and required quite a tug to get started then slowly remove.
