New 981 Spyder owner and late to this thread. How do I enable auto-blip on my car? I see it when I scroll through the dash menu, but its grayed out. Does it need to be enabled using PWIS or other?

Thanks. I assumed it was that simple, but in my case it’s not working. BUT, I have a theory.

On cars with *** (auto start-stop), when the “feature” stops working is a sign that the battery is nearing end-of-life. I don’t have ***, but I do have a 7 year old battery. I have a hunch that the reason my auto-blip isn’t working is tied to my dying battery. I’m scheduled to swap it out this week. I’ll report back.

Does your car have sport chrono? If not I don't think there's any way to enable it short of retrofitting sport chrono. I would be incredibly surprised if it was a battery issue if everything else works correctly.

 

Auto-blip on downshift (the feature he can’t get to work) isn’t a feature of Sport Chrono — I don’t have SC, but have auto-blip whenever I push the Sport button on the console. Sport Chrono is the option that gives (among other things) an analog timer in a pod on the upper dash, right?

 

My car does have SC. I would also be surprised if it’s a battery issue, but it’s the best guess I have at the moment.

Just curious - why did you state “auto blip on downshift” instead of just “auto blip”? No one has been that specific in this thread - is there a distinction?

For the 981 Spyder, you need to press the Sport Plus button to get auto blip.

 

I was just trying to be super specific to make sure DPS214 and I were talking about the same thing. So I spelled out what “Auto blip” actually does.

But I probably need to shut-up because I have a GT4, not a Spyder, and johnsopa right above me ^^^ indicates Spyders have a Sport+ button, which 4s don’t have, so maybe everything about a Spyder is outside my experience; I forgot you owned a Spyder.
