Default Driving/Racing glove suggestions?

The steering wheel on my GT4 is alcantara and thinking of buying a pair of driving/racing gloves to enhance the grip. Has anyone purchased any and if so, what kind?

I picked up a pair of these at the 'ring and love em. Try on a few pair to see if you like the seams on the inside or the outside. More than anything they should be fireproof.

Stand 21 is my current glove - whatever fits well is what I have bought in the past. If you can find a place to try on various brands you will find one that fits you well. There are many great brands and choices.

Default Tide

My favorite of all time: Sparco Tide. Not cheap but last a long time. Allows me to drive with a very relaxed grip. Can drive without them now.

If you dint want to wear race gloves while road driving try buying a pair of Footjoy rain gloves. I have found their grip to be excellent!

How about heat dissipation? My hands tend to sweat quite a bit while on the track. Will gloves make this worse?

I've been running with a pair of Alpinestars Tech-1 ZX gloves for the past couple years that I've really liked: https://amzn.to/2EGOF6q

Apparently, the latest version (the Tech-1 ZX V2) also has capacitive thumbs and index fingers for touchscreens, which is super useful if you're using your phone to run lap timing, etc.

Likely more for enthusiast driving over proper track use but Autodromo puts out a good product - https://www.autodromo.com/accessorie...ngback-gloves/

They're string back to help with temp control.

I use leather driving gloves on the street and proper fireproof racing gloves on the track, not for fireproofness but because they grip alcantera nuch better than leather does.

I use Stand 21 on the track but for daily driving with my P cars I only use a glove on my left hand. I leave my right hand ungloved because it gives me better touch/feel for various controls or picking up coins, cards, stuff, etc. I just find it uncomfortable/bothersome to wear a right hand glove with a daily driver routine. Now for the really "unconventional" part, I suggest visiting a local golf supply shop or driving range and picking up a left handed leather golf glove with your choice of color etc. Why? Because golf gloves are relatively inexpensive yet provide wonderful grip and feel on a steering wheel. And they're usually pretty easy to cinch up or take off as necessary. And lastly you only need to buy one glove not a pair. My $.02.

By the way, I've been practicing this golf glove routine for over 25 years with my 964 leather steering wheel. I still looks like new (a bit shinier than original for sure) in that it has no cracks, tears or fading. Hand sweat (and exposure to the sun) does cause leather and alcantera to degrade over time but wearing a glove goes a long way toward countering that degradation.

Just to add to the discussion on gloves, I love using these air purifying gloves between sessions to help with moisture and stink.
