Rick, I'm assuming these 3 shipped their cars cross-country to your shop for the initial magic/install. In the event that some sort of maintenance/troubleshooting/repair/etc is needed afterwards, would the car need to be shipped back to you or are there easier (local?) options?

Roughly 45, 68, 95, 120 on the shifts. Seems about right for the shortened gears.

Hi all, I guess I would be one of the more recent members of this group, picking up my 4.5 CS last Friday. I'm very much looking forward to stretching it out but alas...in NE tracked are closed. So I'll rev it up every once in awhile pointing the rear out of the garage (my closest neighbor is kind of OK with motorized stuff) to preface getting the car out in the spring. Painful, but that's New England reality on performance cars! Best all for Tday, enjoy reading all the posts.

I try to be objective because I really do like the 991 platform .::but::. taking the 4.5L 981 out of the equation, the 991.2 GT3 actually left me a bit disappointed. It feels quite flat under 5000. After spending a few weeks with one it just doesn't convince me I have to have one. Not to say the 991.2 isn't a fantastic car, but the value isn't there for me. I'd much prefer a 991.1 RS - that feels more special but if PDK isn't what you're after, that's where the GT4 fills in the gap. And that's how you end up in this thread.

You're a poster child for this! But honestly the biggest argument to go GT3 is if you prefer the quirkiness of the rear engine dynamics, significantly lessened with modern cars, but still the legitimately quintessential Porsche to many folks.
It is nice to see Rick hasn't forgotten the 911's that his 4.5's have ironically given a Cayman Complex though

This is why you get a 991.2 GT3RS and have Rick build you a 4.5

After a week with mine, here’s what I can say :

The car has completely been transformed. First of all, the torque and throttle response at the low end has gone up considerably. It’s a rocket coming out of slow corners in 2nd gear. Feels amazing under 5K RPM, and you still want to rev it out to 9000.

The sound is something else. The startup scares people. And the shifts have a gnarly pop. Off throttle it sounds like a race car. We kept the exhaust valves so I can cruise in stealth mode whenever I want. I bought an inconel Crack Pipe from Dundon but not sure if I will put it on now. The car is too loud as it is, my ears were actually ringing after doing a little bit of “testing”.

I’m sorry to keep teasing like this, but I’m hitting the track this week and will post a new thread with full review of my 4.5L GT3RS along with videos after that.

Lets make a point of getting together, I'll be driving this at CM and a few other tracks. 4 months of shutdown will be torture!

Default DeMan Motorsports - General Info

Anyone who has owned performance cars has many stories about dealer service, as well as independent shop service. Many are not good stories, overpriced work, poorly executed service, bad advice, cars lost while waiting for completion, false promises, on and on. I found Rick's shop through several other GT4 owners who had dealt with him and provided A+ reviews. Well, I went all-in and signed up for the 4.5 conversion on my CS. Guess what, work done on-schedule, on-budget, dealt with a few curveballs like some muffler parts I ordered from Germany not coming as quick as possible, an uncovered repair that failed by another shop that had to be resolved, etc. This is an outstanding shop and Rick's knowledge base on the Porsche platform has to be among the best. If you are considering working with DeMan, you should have no reservations.n You can PM me with any specific questions.
