Introduction-Taking Delivery
Hey GT4 fans,
I will be taking delivery of my GT4 next week and I just wanted to introduce myself and ask a few questions. This will be my first Porsche and I am super excited. I am coming from a 2016 Golf R which had way more money put into it than what makes sense but I loved that car.
I wasn't in the market for a GT4 but I surprisingly got the OK from the wife when I breached the subject so here we are.
I want to make a few small subtle changes when I get the car, but, as I mentioned my experience is with VW not Porsche so not too familiar with the platform.
With VW I had VCDS which I could read/clear codes and enable features on the car say not programmes for the NA market. Like opening/closing windows with the fob, convenience turn signal etc. What is the preferred method to make these changes with Porsche, is it even possible?
I want to enable the amber turn signal on the tail lights like in the EU, stuff like that. I'm not even sure if I would need to get new tail lights to do so.
What are go to sites to purchase aftermarket equipment etc?
Anyways I'm looking forward to learning about this platform and I apologize in advance if I have some stupid questions.
Cheers,
Dan

The best part though, is you'll be able to for the most part enjoy the car almost year round in Vancouver. I leave mine down south b/c driving N. Cali so much fun, but I pine for the car when I'm back in Edmonton.
Just a few neat things you can do with the GT4:
easily add Apple CarPlay
personalize interior withe extra deviated stitching bits
significantly improve an alright audio system
eliminate the wind buffeting when cruising with windows down : )
clear LED European signal light markers or change to GTS clear LED tail lights
numerous tuning, exhaust, engine upgrades for more power!
track tuning bits etc
What's happening with the Golf R? I could use one of those all wheel drive cars in Edmonton. Please PM me details if you still have it.

Congrats and enjoy for many kilometers in the best of health!
I don’t know if you can change features like making the windows go down with the fob. These are not keyless entry/drive cars - it’s not an option on GT cars.
I find some of the lack of electronic options rather Spartan (like no mirror setting memory and no seat memory) but I’m told it’s because RACE CAR.
We have all sorts of “luxuries” in the Panamera like keyless go, and frankly it’s one of my fave features. I have having to fish out my key, but the GT cars offer little in the way of creature comforts. I’m okay with it as it’s a spectacular car, but I would prefer keyless go and mirror memory (for example).
I did have the AWE tuning foils installed for when on track with windows down to avoid wind buffeting. Very effective.
Cheers!

Congrats on your GT4 and I am also in Vancouver, with a white one (but no buckets since the girlfriend doesn't like)! I think we should start a local GT4 whatsapp group to hang out and chat
