Auto Dimming rearview mirror issues due to wing
Has anyone else noticed an issue that the auto dimming mirror does not operate properly due to headlights being blocked by the rear wing?

I'm not convinced mine works at all; I've never seen it change or whatever it's supposed to do. I've read the manual entry on how to work it and played with the button. But maybe it works when a truck or higher vehicle is behind me and I never notice it, and when it doesn't work it's because it's blocked by the wing? I'll have to experiment now that you've mentioned it.

Yup, my wing casts a shadow on the mirror's light sensor whenever there's a big SUV or Pickup behind me. The easiest fix is to put in a set of wing risers. Since then, the mirrors work properly.

Guys forgive me if this is a stupid question.
Last year my father purchased his used GT4 and it had very dark tint on it. He had the tint redone because he couldn't see out the back of the car. It now has 35% tint all around but I noticed while driving it yesterday that looking out the rear view mirror looked like it was tinted 5%. Is there an auto dimming feature that can be turned off? Is possible that the sensor for the auto dimming is not working properly? Your help is greatly appreciated.

Have you tried adjusting the mirror up / down manually? There is a clear(er) looking section in its central position and a dimmed section above and below.
The previous owner of my car was very tall and he had adjusted the mirror to suit his eye level. When I sat in the car, all I could see out of the rear was a very dark picture of the traffic behind - I had to manually adjust the mirror upwards to suit.

Yup I tried messing with that lever and it just makes it worse. Looking at the ceiling vs out the rear hatch.

I didn't mean adjusting the mirror by pushing / pulling the lever located @ the bottom of the case, but by literally twisting the complete mirror housing - its located on a gimbal which allows it to be twisted in all sorts of directions.... Once you have a clear view of the rear, you can then flip the lever to dim the view.
I should have been clearer....

I replaced mine with a HD front and rear dashcam - full time rear view camera if you want it
