S2000
#16
I always find this interesting to see how many guys have moved up to nicer cars and either kept their S2000 or gone back to one. I've had too many S2000s (on #4 right now) but the ultimate goal for me is to one day have a GT4 or 997 GT3. I do consider looking at a regular 981S or 997S as an in between but for a weekend fun car the S2000 offers so much for less and costs nearly nothing to maintain. I've been glad to see prices increase on really nice ones and I'm hoping to use that to my advantage one day when the time is right to move on.
This will be the last S2000 I own, that I'm confident about.
2009 Grand Prix White - just around 35k miles. Lots of tasteful mods to make the car look how I want and hang a bit better with the big boys.

Man, I still miss my 03 AP1 S2K! I sold it in 2008 to buy my first Porsche, a 08 997.1 GT3. 9K redlines and awesome transmissions, a lot more similar about the two cars than people thought. Went on to a 997.2 GT3, then a 15 GT3 and finally a 19 GT3 Touring. I missed the drop top feel, so I picked up a 2016 981 Spyder last month.
Man, this is what I wanted my S2000 to be like. Soul long tube headers, 200 cell cats, Softronic tune and BMC air filters makes it scream like a VTEC but deeper and louder.

@hmkrpa Old thread, but do you still have the S2000 CR? How does the purest AP2 S2000 from factory compare to a stock GT4 form a driver engagement and fun factor? Thanks!
they were very different experiences. The CR was far more raw while the GT4 being very precise

I do miss my AP1. I don't regret selling it though, as I would not have been able to get into the Porsches I've had since it left. There is no other car like it though from a driver's standpoint. I know this is an old thread, but for anyone that has never experienced one and is curious, go get one.

I still have my AP2, but it's on loan to my brother in law since I stopped driving it after getting the GT4.
It's kinda cool how many GT4 pilots have or had an S2000.
