Default 987 and GT4 Steering Wheel

It definitely fits.

I hated the 2009 steering wheel with the triangle airbag that is too thin and makes me feel like a grandpa. It took Porsche a few tries to get the design right.

That is a great looking wheel. I would do something similar if the Porsche I buy didn't come with a wheel that I liked.

Wow! Looks great . . . and beefy.

Love your white gauges (must be an "S") and sure wish they had been offered as an option on the Spyder.

The 987 interior is aging very well IMO.

Thanks. Coming from a 986 base with black gauges I'm impartial to the white gauges. The dummy lights are still visible even when they're not lit compare to black where they're not visible.

I think the 987 interior is pretty perfect for a 2 seater sports car. I moved from a 981 to the 987, two of them actually, and much prefer the 987 look. The gear shifter falls more naturally to hand, the parking brake is where you'd expect it, there is no high-rise console between the passengers (it looks just like the Macan and all the rest on the 981), and the three instrument pod has all the info you need and little more.

The wheel looks good, OP, hopefully you got it some way cheaper than list, ouch that price.

Let's not talk about that. J/k.

I paid a bit less than Suncoast list price with PCA discount, the kicker was the dealer wanted $1500 just for the airbag alone. I got a brand new one from an ebay vendor in Sweden for almost half that.

You can get any Cayenne/Macan steering wheel on ebay for less, but it won't have that notch on top of the wheel and I think the diameter is slightly larger.

looks awesome. Would you post a wider interior shot so we can see how it blends in with the whole dash/seats/gear ****?

Looks great, I bet it feels even better.

I assume the airbag connector is just plug and play? I thought about doing this on my car a few months ago but wasn't sure about that.

Love it. Great to see it in place. A 981 Spyder alcantara wheel on my list for my 987.2 . Then my Spyder will look like Nicks! Well, almost...

Thanks for posting!

AFAIK it's plug and play.

No reason to believe it didn't come that way!

Hmmm. I had white gauges on my '05 Boxster S and I see what you mean about the emergency lights being visible when unlit.

I haven't owned that car for several years now, but don't recall that being a detraction for me, although I can see how it could be for others. When goofing around on the configurator these days I often spec the Ferrari-esque yellow gauges and now I'm curious if the emergency lights show through on that color as well.

They are even more visible with yellow.

LOL! Sounds like a bad case of wheel envy, Joel. Here's some 981 Spyder wheel **** to get you through the day, although after seeing how great ekam's GT4 wheel looks you may want to revise your list. Deviated stitch on the GT4 wheel is mighty yummy!
