Just lovely! Whatever hoops you had to jump through to make the switch - financial, mechanical, or otherwise - was well worth it and you have to be thrilled with the results.

With no other part of the car than perhaps the seat do we have so much physical contact and interaction (yes, I know, very profound!). An amazing wheel seals the deal!

And let me mention once again what a rarity it is in this day and age to have a wheel totally unadorned with buttons, switches, dials, etc. I love the purity of a simple, naked, button-free wheel.

Old school, baby!

I have the white gauges on my car (2006 Cayman S) and my most favorite part is that they turn completely black at night with bright white numbering. It's very cool how they did that.

Agreed! It's like having two sets of gauges. Very interesting feature.

Dang those are nice shots Nicks. Wheel envy yes!

I considered the GT4 wheel but want the alcantara and I like the feel of the slightly smaller diameter - very GT-esque.

Joel, note that the GT4 wheel does come in alcantara and from memory I'm almost positive it does have the same compact diameter as the Spyder wheel. From the Porsche press release for the GT4:

The new GT4 sport steering wheel guarantees ideal control and direct steering feedback due to its compact dimensions.

The GT4 steering wheel looks great in the 987.2 Spyder.
One question, will the 987.2 Air bag fit in the Newer GT4 steering Wheel or does one have to also
purchase the GT4 air bag .

Thanks in advance,
Al Z

Outstanding! I’ve replaced the “plastic/painted” interior parts (and most of the exterior) with carbon fiber and had the horizontal painted plastic dash insert covered in alcantara (to match seat inserts, doors sills and floor mats) which IMO has a gives a nice interior an even higher end appearance...the wheel is the last piece that needs an upgrade. You nailed it! Thanks for sharing and validating that it works in the 987.2.

Looks amazing! Thanks for sharing. I may need to consider that upgrade myself. Was it a direct fit or did you need to do any mods to make it work?

Thanks. The wheel and airbag drop in without modifications.

Dealer programmed the PCM as I had a MF wheel, but it's not mandatory. It simply disables the MF wheel options in the PCM options menu.
