Been reading this forum for a couple months to get acquainted. Pulled the trigger on the GT4 a couple weeks back and have had since April 16. Haven't driven it much because of weather and I was away for a few days. I'm looking forward to following the GT4 section more closely. Bought this car because my efforts to get a GT3 over the last 2+ years have fallen flat. I had driven a 991.1 GT3 Feb 2016 and loved it! I haven't driven anything like it, so placed a deposit. No doubt super bummed about how the process works (call me naive back in 2016, now I know). Also considered a 993 because that's been a long time dream even before 997 (debated at the time and went 997), but seems that the 993TT market is softening as cars aren't selling as fast. So figured I should wait. I took this GT4 out for a test drive earlier in April. Loved the drive! Figure it's the next best thing.
If anybody has any suggestions on threads to read, let me know.
Spec - 10,000km, 64 litre fuel tank, heated seats, fire extinguisher, storage net, smoking package, PDLS in black, Sport Chrono, Wing Supports in Black, Rain Sensor, PCM, Leather.
Some first impressions.
Engine has a better feel than my 997.2 C4S, just seems freer and more powerful
Steering is sharp
Dunlops take a while to warm up in 11 degree Celsius temps, cold road and air
Some brake squeal at times
Loved the engine sound on the test drive, now it seems a bit tame. Needs to be 4500+ RPM for sound. Could be spoiled by the GT350. Maybe needs some help.
Love the small interior and closer connection to the engine.
Sport seats feel great, similar to my 997. Wanted LWB but figure sport seats are also better for resale to appeal to a wider range of buyers.
Oakville let you test drive the GT4 and GT3? I guess they will let people test drive the Spyder they have too then. Why didn't you buy from another dealer?

Oakville let me drive the GT4. I took out the GT3 at Pfaff back in early 2016. Went to Pfaff out of loyalty since that's where I bought my 997. Pfaff has my deposit since Feb 2016 and well here I am without a GT3.
Bought from Oakville for a number of reasons:
A) had a car I wanted
B) good people to deal with up to the owner
C) local
D) hoping I can do all my Porsche business with them if they sell me the cars I want.

Downtown, Oakville, and North Toronto have all put more pressure on the OG Pfaff, but they have diversified into McLaren and Pagani. I have heard more good things about Oakville than the other two, and they're also a Premier dealer. Oakville gives hard to get allocations out more readily. If Oakville is closer to you then that's a no brainer. The Policaros are aggressively expanding.
