Default Hankook slicks on CS

I’ll be running a set of Hankook slicks on my new to me 981 CS. (First time driving the car, first time on slicks.) I’m looking for advice/ experiences for this car on the break in process, cold/ hot pressure's, longevity,…. Thanks for any input.

I too just started running the Hankook C52s. Had a crew first day and here is the information I received before and after our 20 minute sprints. Morning started at 22PSI. End of session, adjust to 29PSI all four tyres. Constanting checked tyres after every session, always maintaining 29PSI. Grip was present all five sessions. Hope this helps.

Hankooks like less Camber. Would recommend having support and working through the alignment to get the proper tire temps. We race Audi GT4 cars and switched this last year to Hankook in our series. We ended up taking out about .75 of camber on the front and back to get it right. We start at 21 in the back and 22 in the front and end up around 29-30 psi hot. Seems to work. We found the hankooks to be 1 second slower per lap for the first 15-20 minutes of the race and then they are about the same and last about 50% longer. Hope this helps.

What sizes did you get? I saw a few sizes listed indifferent posts and wasn't sure which was correct for a 981 CS:

240/640-18 and 280/680-18
or
250/640-18 and 300/680-18

Agree with everything stated regarding hankooks, I have the same experience with them on 991 GT3 Cup. They have a very steady performance degradation over time, they work quite well as a trackday tire and can be run for 3 days or longer if you don't mind a more substantial drop in performance.

I went with the 250/640-18 and 300/680-18. They fit fine. A little shorter than the Pirellis that were on the car.

Does anyone have any comments/ experience with Hankook’s suggested break in process running a few laps and letting the tires get back to ambient temperatures before driving again? Effect on grip/longevity?

I have tried both ways multiple times and I honestly couldn't tell the difference either way. Your mileage may vary by stint length, cooldown duration, # of days you plan to put on the tires etc. I can say for certain either way that your fastest lap will be about the 3rd or 4th lap on them. 1-2 laps to bring up pressures, 1 lap to bring up temps at 90% pace, and the 3rd/4th lap go for your best time.
