Rolex 24hr Daytona GX.R Cayman at auction
This Bullet Racing Cayman GX.R is 1 of 3 Cayman race cars that raced at the 2013 Rolex 24 hours of Daytona. This is the last year privateers were allowed to build their own race cars to race at the Rolex 24 hours of Daytona and the Cayman's finished 1-2-3! This car finished 2nd place in the GX class and will be auctioned off at Henderson Auctions at Barber Motorsports Park on May 18, 2024.
Modifications include:
911 3.8L motor, X51 intake, Carcraphic headers and exhaust, MotTec, 400whp., 997 GT3R fuelcell and krontec air jacks, JRZ 3 way and several suspension parts from GT3 Cup, carbon fiber bodywork, car weighs 2650 lbs, new clutch, transmission, Guard LSD and axles with less than 6 hours.
The car has been serviced and is fully sorted and was last at BGB Motorsports in 2023 and was supported at a trackday with their crew.
This car has the original patina from the 2013 Rolex 24 hr race and would be a great car to have in a collection or go historic racing. My plan was to race at HSR 24 Hours of Daytona, Rennsport Reunion and Monterey Historics but work has gotten in the way and the car hasn't raced since the 2013 Rolex race. Since 2019, the car has been driven at a handful of DE's and I start and drive the car around the neighborhood on a monthly basis and it has been featured at exotic car shows.
I currently have a modified 430HP 2016 GT4 Clubsport MR which is a little easier to drive but this Cayman GX.R is the faster car with its lighter weight, additional downforce and the 265 / 315 tire setup.
