Default 718 / 981 GT4 CLUBSPORT QUARTER WINDOW AIR INTAKE

In an effort to move a discussion about 718 / 981 QUARTER WINDOW INTAKES to a thread started and moderated by BGB, all my cold air intake media and propaganda can be found here.

The design of this iteration was done in an effort to aid other race teams that need valuable space in the rear of the car to mount driver cooling systems such as the Chillout System. Our previous systems were discontinued when our suppliers were no longer able to deliver because of overseas production problems.

This is where you can find information, dyno results, install photos, etc.

The final product will look like the final attached photo and while I expected to have product by now; i do not. The existing version is still available. If you want to wait for what you see below, please call AJ and get your name and information on the list.

There are contours in the bottom of the box to then feed water into drains that go to factory holes under the carpet that vent to the outside.

The water has to go through the filter element to be drained / vented to the outside?

Have you installed one of these on a street car set up? I assume it's all reversible? Heat is definitely an enemy in these cars......

IF it gets passed the one way membrane, yes but it's got two solutions.

While the box was in development were completing another 4.2L and the customer was anxious to have the new style box; we used one of the early 3D printed air boxes to install on this car. While the customer was there we swapped out the original style smaller 3.5" quarter windows and that's when we revised the design to match the factory 2020 MR window intakes.

This car does NOT have a cage and therefore uses the gloss carbon fiber intake tubing.

Everything was moved to 4" / 100mm when we revised the quarter windows to be like the factory ones. At this point the throttle body and the tube to which it attaches are the step down and you don't have the sheet metal or the parts to go bigger. Same as the Manthey kit.

For a street / track car situation, how much of an increase in interior noise results from this product? Also, does this require removing the back carpet or just a hole cut in it (and the firewall)?
