The Yokes are slower. The two front runners (both of them crashed out in different races), were in the :56’s, the next eight or ten were in the :58’s and :59’s.
PSC was a hell of a lot more competitive than any PCA race I’ve seen, except for B1 in its heyday or Todd Lamb versus @jdistefa

cory is a great driver, but I didn’t include him or Leh or others as they are not amateurs anymore. Watching those guys battle at the pointy end is always a treat.
From looking at the PSC Cayman times, the top qualfier at VIR was the same speed as Jens Hanston in PCA (1:56.1). The field is certainly much larger, but does not appear better from what I can tell (PSC VIR qualy times of 1:56 to 2:04).

rules look interesting, but with only a 30kg break vs the 718s and no other BOP, a 981 would not be competitive. Side note, I dont think it’s even possible to get to the GTC 981 min weight of 1350kg/2976# with driver. My car is a MR Evo and it weighs more like 3025# with me (185#) in it and zero fuel.

The track is getting slower... Six-plus years since the repave and lots of repair sections.
Yes, people can still do a one-lap wonder time, but really much harder to shoot a tight group of record neighborhood lap times.
I see it the most in drop off from cool mornings to warm afternoons. Much more evident in temp related performance.
The newer the track, the less the drop off. This is a good indicator for many tracks, not just VIR.
I think Jens is very good, but I think it's time for him to dip his toe into pro racing instead of being a big fish in a smaller pond.

There's a reason they don't give out the trophies before the checker...
Try it. The result might not be so pre-ordained.
