Default Dry Break Refueling

So I'm tired of using VP and Hunsaker cans and their simple hoses. It was fine when I was running cars with side mounted fuel fillers, but the center tank makes it a pain, especially during in-race refueling. Does anyone know of a direct fit dry break system that I can replace the existing refilling cap with? I looked at the MR system, but that's changing the entire top of the fuel cell, and I don't have the hood with the cut out. I'm fine lifting the hood to refuel. Just want a system that is faster and is easy to engage. Any thoughts are appreciated!

The MR setup really is great. I’d just get that and cut a hole in your hood. I replaced the carbon MR hood with a alum one for endurance racing. Cut a hole in it and made a 3D printed flange for the hole. Looks pretty professional if I do say so myself.

Does look damn good!

What do you use for fuel jugs with the MR system?

We like the fuel safe ones best, as they have a built in handle. We endurance race this car, so have 5 of them. Crew can completely refuel the entire 100 liters in like 1-2 mins easy.

I just cut some rubber flooring stuff for the trunk and stand in the trunk and refuel with a funnel.

BAT now has the dry break for that car: https://mocal1.wordpress.com/

Simply swap out the cap and flange for this quick fill version that accepts ATL and generic “red” bottle valves. Made by the same manufacturer/supplier to Porsche as the standard cap and flange which assures proper fit. Specifications: 101.6mm (4”) PCD / 8 hole mounting 61.5mm (2.25″) single connection. Gasket and hardware is included.

What is the easiest way to fuel from a regular fuel pump? I have the 100l fuel cell but don't have the cutout in the hood and, if possible, I would prefer to fuel direct from the pumps at the track as I am just doing track days and that is more convenient for me.

I have not had the chance to try out the car yet but will have it back from the shop in a week or two so I can see what I have. I have been told that you can jam something in the fuel opening and stick the nozzle in.

Thanks,

Mark

Yes you can do this. You can even just push the dry break down with your fingers and put the nozzle in (hey now). Just be aware the auto shut-off on the pump may not work. If you use something to wedge open the dry break, make sure it cant fall into the tank and should be reasonable soft so as not to gouge the plate.
