And here is the response from Porsche on the 70l:

"Retail price for the 70L fuel cell is going to be $12,312.29 and this is a special order item from Germany so we do not have this in stock. Part number is 9812010178B

Let me know is you have any further questions.

Kind Regards / Mit freundlichen Grüßen

There are aftermarket sources for the bladders. Some that you send them the bladder and they make you a new one based on it if they do not already have one that they stock for the cars. Still not cheap. Last one I heard about was still about $6500.

As far as cell vs bladder. The Cup cars came with tanks from the factory until 2010 with the 997.2. Our 997.1 still has the plastic tank. Is the cell safer. Sure, probably, but based on where it is in the car, it would be pretty hard to get an incident that would get all the way to the tank. Plus is a leaking cell safe ? I would rather have a tank and worry about that what if rather than a cell that I need to check for leaking.

Many organizations say how long the bladder is good for. I think NASA says 5 years.

Thanks

Ed
