Default 2016 Clubsport Technical Bulletin

What is everyone's thoughts on this recertification of the Fuel Bladder for the 2016 GT4 Clubsport? And then the obvious having to replace it by 2023....

I guess I wasn't really expecting it. And not sure on what the replacement cost is going to end up being.

Following - as i have similar bladder in my 2016 991.1 Cup. In my PNMA tech info it says you can remove it, send it to Germany and have it re-certified for another 2 years I think...that doesn't sound easy and means downtime...so interested in what others have done are planning

Ya. Honestly I've got no idea...but Porsche is basically saying its a requirement because it could leak/catch fire/explode after it "times out"........sigh. What I'm trying to get out of Porsche Motorsports(and they never seem to answer their phones or return voicemails) is what the actual replacement cost is.

Best to email. Had a similar issue trying to see what it would cost to fix a 993 GT2 ABS’ module internals. Never got a call back after 2 attempts.

I can tell you I just paid almost $9K to replace the Premier fuel cell in my 2008 Cup...It was original and started leaking. Then six months later I buy my 2016 mint condition Clubsport with 3600 miles thinking I would not have any large expenses anytime soon.

This would be a real bummer as it is NOT an easy job.

The cup fuel cell lasted 12 years? I’m being told these only last 5? Does everyone replace them every 5 years?

I've got a email out to the parts department at Porsche Motorsports on what the "replacement" cost is for fuel bladder. I'm getting to the point where I might just go buy up a older car and gut it into a track car. A lot of these ones I'm seeing pop up aren't properly maintained at this point.

As we know they "time out"...But I was not racing the car...I bought an 08' Cup from Nolasport knowing the cell was original. They told me it "should" last a bit longer, etc. Since I was not racing I was not worried about it being "timed out".

Unfortunately it started leaking and I had to replace it. As mentioned it was original. I have photos of it...Zotz in Longwood, Florida replaced it.

Was it the physical work that was expensive, the actual parts, or a combination of both?

Just got the pricing from Porsche on the fuel bladder replacement. Have fun with them guys, I'm out on purchasing a 2016 now.

"Hi Sean,

Retail price for the 70L fuel cell is going to be $12,312.29 and this is a special order item from Germany so we do not have this in stock. Part number is 9812010178B

Let me know is you have any further questions."

Wow...Crazy. I will just assume it is not going to leak anytime soon...Maybe only a factor in PCA events?

How is that different from any cup car or the 718 Clubsport or any other car with a fuel cell? These things aren’t new to race cars.
