CARiD.COM SUCKS!!!!
I just wanted to warn everyone about CARiD.COM. I placed an order for a set of wheels and tires for my wife's Lexus GS350 and spoke to a sales person named Luis on the phone. I decided to call the order in because I wanted to double check fitment and also make sure the wheels and tires were in stock. Luis confirmed fitment and said everything was in stock and that I should receive my order within 15 days. Well... come to find out Luis wasn't entirely truthful on what they had in stock as I went to login to my account and I now see a estimated ship date of November 2nd. That puts my arrival time of the wheels/tires at over 3 months away since the initial order took place!!! When I emailed support about this, CARiD claimed that my items were in fact "in stock", but can't give me a reason why its taking so long for them to ship -- support keeps dodging the question. Now, common sense would tell me if the rims and tires are in fact in stock why has the estimated ship date been push forward 3 months, unless CARiD is lying or some other shenanigans are going on? Feeling frustrated and cheated, I ask to have the order cancelled. Support emails me back with the below in quotes. How can something that is "in stock" be "custom ordered"?!
In closing I'm totally disgusted that a company can completely lie to me saying everything is in stock and then tell me with a straight face that the estimated shipping has been extended to the first week of November. CARiD knew full well if they were truthful with me on the estimated shipping I would have never made the order. So here I wait with no recourse on wheels that I won't be able to use until next year. Thanks CARiD!!!
"Dear Daniel,
Thank you for contacting CARiD!
Unfortunately, we are unable to cancel the order due to the fact that these products are custom ordered, and therefore are non-cancellable, and non-returnable.
However, let us point out the definite benefits of buying from us... CARiD guarantees that: a set of wheels and tires you've selected will 100% fit your vehicle. Why is this a key and critical benefit that is important? We confirm these details multiple times; first with the manufacturer, second with our mechanics, and finally, with our warehouse staff experts. You will receive from us a vehicle specific installation kit for absolutely free. What does this mean? This kit includes everything you need to install the new wheels on your specific vehicle.
If you have any other questions feel free to call our specialists at your earliest convenience. We can be reached at 800 505 3274 extension 8036. Thank you!
Sincerely,"

I can't stand them and I've never placed an order. Out of all the banner ads on here theirs is the only one that hijacks my phone. I intend to click on P&C and NOPE.... CariD has expanded and stolen my click. Unbelievably stupid advertising.

Order was placed this past Monday (8/1/2016). When I found out about the new estimated shipping date I immediately took action and emailed support.
My wife ran over a staple in her car and instead of buying 4 new tires for the stock rims right away we decided to get new wheels and tires so there is some urgency in the matter. I was originally told by Luis at CARiD they would arrive by August 15th which I was fine with. However that isn't the case anymore and throws a monkey wrench in my plans -- my summer cars will be put away and I will need my Cayenne Turbo back (wife is driving it now). If they can't get me the wheels by the promised date (15th) I would rather get them from someone who can.
I really appreciate you looking into this!

Update:
I received a email from CARiD who said they plan on shipping my wheels on August 15th which means I will get them around the week of August 22nd. I still don't understand how my wheel and tire package which supposedly is "in stock" can take so long to arrive. What is unfortunate is I know a vendor who can have them here by next week.

No, I was promised the wheels and tires by the 15th from Luis at CARiD. If I can get the CARiD order cancelled, I can place a new order from a vendor who can have them to me by next week.

I find it odd that they claim they can't refund my money because the wheels were "custom ordered". How can parts that are "in stock" be "custom ordered"? Doesn't make any sense unless the customer support team let the cat out of the bag...

"Custom Ordered" means they are a brokerage house, not a stocking distributor. They are going to turn around and order from the master distributor or from the factory. They can't possibly warehouse every last part.
Lots of vendors (me included) tell customers that something is in stock, but are relying on a warehouse service in L.A. to have it to us early the following morning so we can deliver it on our trucks.
I've ordered from Sierra Madre Collection at their parts counter in Sierra Madre only to be sent to their "will call" location. That location is actually just a small warehouse next door to their vendor that does all the importing and warehousing for lots of other websites (Pelican), retailers and repair shops. SMC gets the retail margins without doing much of the dirty work. .....Much like Amazon

The email you received said "CARiD guarantees that: a set of wheels and tires you've selected will 100% fit your vehicle. Why is this a key and critical benefit that is important? We confirm these details multiple times; first with the manufacturer, second with our mechanics, and finally, with our warehouse staff experts", but the image of your order indicates that fitment is "not verified". Which is it?
I always check a company's written return policy before ordering, especially so on a significant purchase. If this order doesn't arrive by the time you need to make payment on the charge, consider going ahead and disputing it then, just to get it on record before the time frame you have to dispute it expires.
And what the heck is in a "vehicle installation kit"?? Somehow, I don't believe that it "includes EVERYTHING you need to install the new wheels on your specific vehicle".

They have massive resources, inventory and infrastructure. But they seem to approach service like Comcast. Just odd.
I almost ordered something from them... tempted to test the experience. I saw a lack of product details and vague shipping language as discouraging.
Their strength? Sharp, hi-res pics on a very car ****-ish website.
Sites that sell bling? That's them. I will go to serious suppliers, not the ones who sell bling and dress up parts as their main revenue.

I did a search on google of "CARiD slow shipping" and what I'm going through is a pretty common theme...
Yep, next time I will do more research on a company and its return policy. I never thought in a million years a company would go so far out of its way to mislead me.

I interviewed with this company to head up their customer service. At first, they seemed to want to lead in that area. After some time, I started to align them mentally with Comcast. Their approach was as if they were a monopoly/utility. It was... bizarre.
