Does anyone know if a factory CD-2 CD player from a 1991 C2 Porsche
will install in my 1988 Carrera Coupe? I know it shows my model
should have a CD-1 deck, so what complications are there with the
newer deck. Will it fit the opening? I suspect the wiring may be
different, but can a suitable wiring configuration be adapted?
All responses appreciated.

cjag,
I don't know for sure, but I suspect it will. PET5 shows the Reno SQR 46 cassette deck was standard (and the CD-1 was optional?) in your car.
I replaced the Reno SQR 46 in my '87 928 with a CD-2. Wiring is interchangeable, however the CD-2 has a security switch which is unused in my car. The dash opening is the same but the metal dash insert is not so use the one for the CD-2 if you have it.
