Cool Is it Time for another UK meet yet ??

Hi Guys,

Anyone fancy another beer meet some time soon ??

can I suggest some time either the end of this month, or early September ??

Also, how about we try somewhere else. Now I can think of a real nice pub just south of Dorking, but it favours my location.
take a look at www.forestgreen.com, and click on the link to the parrot inn.

Nice pub, big car park, do food as well, and overlooks a village cricket green.
What is more, the roads around thar area are great !

Most direct route from M25:
lexit at Leatherhead, follow the A24 south, past Dorking, then take A29 to Ockley, and left towards Ewhurst until you get to Forest Green.

Come on Guys, pick a date.
Based on previous comments, maybe we ought to try for a Wednesday, as Tuesdays and Thursdays seem to be busy for some people.
So how about the 4th or 11th sept...

Right. I've started the ball rolling.
If you're on for it, shout up and I'll addit to the calendar.

By the way Steve, this should be a fair bit closer to you than the other place.

Cheers,
John.

Thumbs up

John,

Location looks good. About time we had a meet more than a mile from my front door.

I'm away next week, so would request the following week, say 28th August. Would that suit anyone?

By the way - any suggestions for a holiday location next week? I'm getting a lot of earache for not arranging anything...

Thanks John, I don't think my little blue meanie can take the distances involved to Egham many more times.

Any day looks good to me. I'll keep watching the board.

Okay people,

looks like a change of venue is okay, so lets pick a date.

Next week is pretty busy for me, so the 28th is not ideal. I would prefer the 4th Sept.
That also gives me an extra week to get my car mobile again

PSS9s are fitted to mine, but brakes need bleeding. I'm awaiting some bits to be delivered from AFN, so hopefully I can sort it this weekend.
I'm not sure how Mark is getting on with his. Last time we spoke he was awaiting some rear monoballs.

Cheers guys,
John.

Still waiting for the rear monoballs but only because PayPal are being slow in setting up an account for me so that I can pay da man!

The new stuts are measured up and ready to go on, new tools purchased (18mm spanner is quite unusual) and garage cleared for action.

Maybe this bank holiday weekend will see them fitted

Either way I'll almost certainly be at the Dorking meet.

Good news Mark

By the way, My car is at the bottom of page 93 (I think) of 911 & PW at their french track day

They have also set their next meet at the Blue ball for Monday the 2nd (i.e. 2 days before my preferred date for ours).
I'm still on for our meet in preference to theirs, but thought I'd mention it, incase people would prefer to merge the two together.

Anyone wanna buy a 993 ?? (see my other post )

Cheers,
John.

John, You're bloody mad

Glad to see the PSS-9's didn't get in the way of a DUKE.

Does that mean the 'Blade is history or just part of the collection?

Sorry Guys,
work has been hectic, so this is the first time I've visited rennlist this week !

Lets make it the 11th then, since no one else has complained about Steve's request.

Mark, yes I must be mad - I go to see it tomorrow though, and somehow I don't think I'll be coming home without it
As for the blade, who knows.
I may keep it as a dedicated track bike, but I'll wait a few months, then decide.

Brakes are now bled, and I've played with the ride height.
Mark, FYI I set the front spring platforms at 100mm above the strut mounting (where we measured before). To me it looks too low at the front now, so I'm going back up 5-10mm.
Sorry, no idea what this is in terms of RS/ROW M030 heights, as I haven't measured.

The back still sits very high, so I need to wind that down a little.

First impressions ??
Well, its hard !
Compared to the previous standardsuspension I now suffer from bump steer on the crap roads around my way.
It is also not as sharp on turn-in as it used to be, and now gives oversteer on power-lift much more than before, which surprises me.
Bear in mind though that it has not be alligned except by me, so that may help.

Have a good weekend all, and see you on the 11th.

Cheers,
John.

John,

Fitted the fronts last weekend and set them to 95mm below the strut mounting (measured off the car).... this translates to about 10mm below RS levels when lowered and settled ie too low.

Gonna fit the rears this weekend and adjust all round to RS + a little bit!

Booked into AMD for corner weighting and alignment week after next.

Did you see the link on the 993 forum "True RS suspension..", it goes into bump steer issues if you go too low.
What damper setting have you dialled in? I'm going midway (6) to start with.
I'm not going to make any judgement until it's properly aligned etc.
I suspect your turn in is an alignment issue and the oversteer is due to the rear ride height not being matched to the front.

Is the www.forestgreen.com link correct? It doesn't work for me. I'll be there on the 11th anyway

See you all on the 11th.
