I wonder if it's the Strosek wheels, or maybe the K&N filter on Carlos' car that makes it so very fast? Didn't LeMans ban K&N filters from the 24 hour LeMans race because they give K&N drivers an unfair advantage?

Heh heh.

PS: The street racers won't be convinced by seeing accident carnage - they've got something to prove that's obviously more important than the lives of themselves or others. And I doubt the cars of our street racing heroes would pass tech inspection.

LOL Mr Big!
Actually, I believe that the ACO instead devised a "K&N Equivalency Formula" wherein K&N equipped cars were required to reduce air intake diameters by 73% to compensate for the dramatic power advantage over non K&N equipped cars...unless the vehicle in question was a Citroen, Peugeot or Renault, in which case the unrestricted use of two K&N's was allowed...

As the owner of a 1993 911 RS America and a 1999 996, my 996 is much faster than my 911 RS in the lower gears. If you beat the 996, then it was "driver error". Having said this, I bought the 911 RS America for the track. I would rather be in a 911 RS on the track than my 996.

Aren't there more than just one species of shark? Anyway stingrays are not really sharks.

Someone long ago noticed a resemblace between a 928 and a shark. It stuck. YMMV.

To Jrad, Those guys were morons. Don't try to put me in the same class with them.

To Big, you might want to try a K&N it might overcome the weight of your ***!

To EJ, Good job. My statement was not that every 928 is faster than every 911, just that I smoked the 996 that jumped on me.

To Tch, glad you figured that out. I might see if I can adapt 2 or 3 more onto my car.

To Mmccarth, It may have been driver error. Or moon phase, or who knows what. All I'm really sure of is the outcome.

To George, Keep on wearing their asses out!

Was that after they saw Risky Business and the 928 went for a swim?

Hey Carlos! I was jumped by a guy driving a 928 down around McMinn Co. a few months ago. That wasn't you? Was it? My little ol' '99 C4 plum left that boy in the dust.

Hey guys, I've enjoyed reading your posts. I like all Porsches, some more than others, but they all have their good points. I've not driven a 996 yet but will before too long. I met a neighbor recently who has a 996 Cab and said I could take it out anytime I want. He's owned 7 Porsches of various models in his lifetime starting in the 70's. He said he liked his SC the most. So I told him he could drive mine anytime he wanted also. It's great to be a Porsche enthusiast and share the heritage.
I'll repost with my observations when I get to drive his 996.
Nice weekend everyone.

Same here CarlosR, I´m not the same person as "Carlos" either. I found the van post funny (and the owner pathetic) but I don´t agree with the comments that followed. This **** happens when there is a screen in between and not face to face.

Carlos from Spain.
