From what I hear, it's going to take Porsche 3 years to deliver the first 1000 cars. That might make them a little less available.

I'll take the CGT it's a race car frame with bolt on components, e.g. fenders etc.

There'll be a Carrera GT available in December for those of us who live in Victoria, BC! Sadly, it won't be available for me...

As for the comparison, I'd go Carrera GT as I am a Porsche lover without fail. The Enzo is not a pretty car, as most Ferraris have been, and since cars of the marque are more rolling art than automobiles, it's clear the Enzo is off target.

For the sake of arguement though, the same money that would buy a Carrera GT or an Enzo would also buy the 1997 911 GT1 Evo street car that's for sale in New Zealand in Hemmings this month. Similar performance, much better looks and a racing connection that neither the C GT nor the Enzo can offer. THAT'S my car!

If I could keep my '95 Carrera, the Enzo, if I couldn't. The GT.

Got to have a Porsche of some description in the garage. Life just wouldn't be the same.

BTW, I'd take the GT! MUCH better design, probably much better reliability, similar performance,... Actually, I'd be a bit worried about 'resale-value'. There will be 1'500 cars (against only 399 Enzo), which makes the GT somewhat less exclusive.

Don W,
You make the best point yet -- about having a local dealer!

My first post opted for the Enzo bc of rarity/and resale, but you just reminded me...

I sold my 2001 Ferrari 360 spider F1 last summer because I was 800 miles from the dealer in Vancouver (plus other dealerhip issues).

Ferrari is very proprietary with their info. When I had ground problems/false signals on my month old 4RE, they would not fax the F. Manual pages showing where the chassis ground locations were, so that Eurasia, a competent local shop could fix it. Instead, I had to return truck the car to Vanc.( on their nickel) but lost 4 weeks in early summer.

So I've got the TT X50 last week and am itchin to play with all that torque.

One other thing cars the C-GT price leaque -- Many secondary buyers are quite weird about milage. To hold value the thing's gotta be a garage queen.

I wonder if you would want to use either as a daily driver. They just attract too much attention when you drive, stop or even park.

I suspect that the C-GT will be very usuable, and the luck guy who also gets to drive it at 8/10ths + at a Track Day will be in a different world!

Nope, 399 Enzos. 349 were originally planned, but they increased the number to 399 due to high demand.

OK, I guess the original question is unfair, so here is a better comparison...

Ferrari Enzo, or Bugatti Veyron?

I found a site where they sell incredibly rare cars and the Bugatti is for sale at a low low price, of just 1.3 million!

The enzo is at 1.2.

Which one would guys pick? I'm sorry, but an 8.0 liter 16 cylinder supercar with 4 turbos, 1000hp and 980 lbs/ft of torque is too good to decline. I'd go with the Bugatti!

To answer the orginal question, easy choice Carrera GT.
The Enzo is pig ugly and not a patch on the McLaren F1 that it's spec (except the excess weight) apes.

Regarding the Bugatti Veyron.... do you really think they'll make more than a handfull? AND anyway it's almost as ugly as the Enzo.

I'd take the Veyron and the enzo. I think the McLaren F1 is Disgusting. The rear lights right off of a truck. Pretty pathetic to me. Too narrow, not wide enough. The back is a Ferrari or Lamborghini wannabe. and three seats? what the hell is that? plus, it's a BMW engine. What is so "McLaren" about it?

I'm changing my vote back to the Carrera GT (as if any one really cares).
I had the Enzo mixed up with another Ferrari. The Enzo is way too angular for my taste. Give me a nice Ferrari GTO and you can keep both the GT and the Enzo.

The Carrera GT. I prefer the looks, I expect the performance to be equal to the Enzo, and the reliability and comfort to be higher. I never really warmed to Ferraris - they seem to try too hard.

Some people are arguing that the Ferrari will hold its value better. Maybe, but the 959 seems to have held its value very well, and I think the GT will too because it is a real 'statement' car - the first Porsche has made since the 959.

Macca F1, Porsche GT-1, Pagani Zonda. That's my current league table.
