Question Fathers Day Gifts

Hello All. I have trying to come up with an idea for a Fathers Day gift for my hubby, he is a longtime member of the Rennlist and an absolute 928 fanatic (I just signed up so I can get the skinny on the best gift ideas). The cars, well they are cool but don't interest me nearly as much as they do my husband, that is my way of telling you that I haven't paid very close attention when he talks about all the goodies he wants to get for them. So as much as I loathe the thought of buying him the perfect gift for his "mistress" I know this is what will make him happiest. So any ideas? He has 2 928's, both are in good condition , but I think he wants to 'dress them up' a bit and I want to keep it under $300. Possibly something that will help preserve their value while they remain in storage for the better part of the year? Please email me or post a response and I will check back this week. Thanks

Wow, with that kind of dedication I need you to speak with my wife!

I don't know much about the 928, but there are some Rennlist sponsors who have catalogs that might be of some help. There are 2 sponsors that deal in 928 cars.

<a href="http://www.928intl.com" target="_blank">www.928intl.com</a>
<a href="https://rennlist.com/spnsrs/928specialistl.html" target="_blank">https://rennlist.com/spnsrs/928specialistl.html</a>

There are several general Porsche aftermarket catalog folks that might be of interest
<a href="http://www.pelicanparts.com" target="_blank">www.pelicanparts.com</a>
<a href="http://www.performanceproducts.com" target="_blank">www.performanceproducts.com</a>
<a href="http://www.tweeks.com" target="_blank">www.tweeks.com</a>

My suggestion would be to contact any of these folks and get a gift certificate for whatever amount you decide. How can you lose on a deal like that.

If you really want to do some research and go to the general Rennlist Website <a href="https://rennlist.com" target="_blank">www.rennlist.com</a> and look thru the sponsors.

And if that isn't enough you could pose your question to the folks on the Rennlist 928 Board, if you haven't already done so.

Other thoughts...a set of tires (more than $300 obviously) from <a href="http://www.tirerack.com" target="_blank">www.tirerack.com</a>

Or maybe a thorough detail job for one of the cars.

I'm out of ideas. Good luck!

One other thought. If your husband gets Excellence magazine, look in through the ads. You might get an idea there.

Oh, and by the way...please keep us up to date. We all have to know each other's business!

if you want to do somthing to help preserve it, i know a great thing to buy. however it may cost a little mofre than youre looking for. im guessing maybe $350-375 for a 928 (im guessing on size). this is the ultamate in car storage. and from what you described this is exactly what you want. keeps air circulated, kids pets etc away from the car.. made from sopme really strong material too!

here is a place to order it from, and their prices. i hope this helps. if you get this, make sure you get the right size!!!!

Thanks for the replies everyone. I really like your idea Harry. Have been seriously thinking about that car capsule. I come down on vacation a couple of times to find mice nests in the car or in the on top of the air filter. Even thoroughly sealing the shop doesn't keep em out and they seem to have a refined taste for Porsches as they leave my truck and Mustang alone. Any way I got busted on the 928 board posting ideas for my fathers day gift, so the cat is out of the bag. She had to know I would see this though, and know immediately who "The other Woman" was.
