Post 4 Passenger Porsche...

Has anyone seen articles on the new Mazda RX8? Don't you think that should have been something Porsche developed as a 4 passenger sports car...I don't mean the motor, just the concept and styling. It would have appealed to me. That could have been their "4th model" idea.

Agree or not???

Here's a pic of the Mazda RX8 4 door sports car w/o center pillar. I think it would have been a great idea for Porsche!

Porsche already sells a 4 passenger car, and has since the 60's.

I really like the RX8, they also compare the size (exterior) to that of the 911...I also believe what DonW was trying to say was "seat 4 comfortably"

Different strokes, I guess. I always thought that rx8 was horribly ugly.

Since the original RX 7 was designed as an alternative (IMHO it never really was a competitor) to the 944, one might say that this is where Porsche may have gone had it not discontinued the 968. Still, even with the 1/2 doors is it a 2+2 or a real 4 seater?

You're right Schuey..it really isn't a 4 door, but it's still a true 4 passenger car unlike the 911 and is small enuf to still qualify as a sports car. I'm not suggesting that it's Mazda I like....just the design concept that would have been good for Porsche. I just hope their 4th vehicle is a 4 passenger worthy of the 911 and Boxster bloodline!

the 1st gen rx7 was avalible in 78. I think it looked more like a 911 than a 924 in those years.
