Question Linton Motorsports and Motorcar Investments ??

Has anyone dealt with either of these companies? I am looking at their pcars...Linton Motorsports is out of Manassas Park, Virginia and Motorcar Investments is out of Raleigh, North Carolina...any feedback would be great...

Thanks in advance!

If you decide to buy from the Raleigh company, and plan on getting a PPI done, let me know. I did a remote PPI in Raleigh (I live in CT), and ended up using two non-dealer sources, the first was not good and the second only OK.

hi schuey,

i have some experience with linton first-hand.

here's the scoop. i made the trip down (not far from me) to take a look at a fantastic 1988 bmw m3 (i know it's not a p-car, but please, the e-30 body style is fabulous). anyway, the car did not disappoint - it was everything and more and right on the money for the price they were asking - right around 25k. it's just too bad the staff didn't have the same personality as the car. i was treated somewhat childlike. granted, i look young for my age(26, 25 at the time) but my money spends the same as everyone else's, and the car was financially in my grasp. they barely anwsered my questions about the car, i had to almost beg to have the door opened to get in, and a test drive was like wishing for world peace. i said f*ck it, i want the car no matter how these guys act. i finally managed to get them to sit down with me to go over financing and the like, but due to the time of day we could only get a response from one of their lenders. well, i missed the mark by about 2500 and they were unwilling to come down on the car. after shaking hands and deciding to give my credit union another call first thing monday morning, the salesman asked how i was planning to "hold" the car anyway. well, the look on his face told the story - i had come prepared with a $5000 check as the initial down on the car.

hold the phone, hit rewind, back the truck up. all the sudden i was the greatest guy to walk the earth. i was no longer a 25 year old kid looking for a cheap ride, they wanted to put me in anything they had on the lot as long as it had the bimmer logo on it. i said no f*cking way, i came for one reason and one reason only - the m3. don't try to put me in something just cause i have cash in hand, especially after treating me like the plague.

anyway, that's my linton story. nice cars at times, but the staff leaves alot to be desired.

good luck

Yah, did you get the M3? Too bad you were treated that way...anyway they (Linton) wouldn't budge much on the price, and I had a deal fall through on my 944 that I was selling so I was out of luck and it sold a week later...but like many of you said, wait and get the "right one" so I'm still waiting for my 911 to come...as soon as my 944 is gone my serious search begins once again...
