I'm an engineer. My Dad has been a PCA member since the 1960s, so I grew up with 911's. I knew I would have a Porsche someday. I finally bought my first one in 2009.

It's all about your priorities and other expenses in life. I don't have kids, or a husband, or other expensive hobbies like shopping, so I spend most of my fun money on Porsche stuff or events I grew up going to Porsche Club stuff and that's what I really love doing in my free time!

Porsches are affordable to most everyone if you find the right years/models in your price range. Depending on where you live, there can be many good independent shops (meaning NOT Porsche dealers) that do the work for reasonable prices if you don't do your own work like I don't. Plus the PCA is full of good resources too.

I'm a Sr. WAN Engineer for a mortgage insurance outsourcing company, I'm a DJ on the side for the fun and love of it plus I have a few rental properties. I've wanted a 911 Turbo every since I was a kid (the 70's). I got my first Porsche ('85 Targa) in 1998 and just sold it to get my '04 996TT cabriolet. I can see myself happy with my current Porsche for a long time... at least until I start seeing $20k rice-burners w/ higher HP and faster 0-60mph numbers.

I'm new here also.
I'm retired military, Army SF after 33 years, and do military contracting in Astan and Iraq. Usually training indig forces or personal protection. Do it when I feel the need to get out and about.
Just purchased a high mileage '83 911sc but with a great PPI.
Have owned 'quality cars' for years ...Maserati 3500 GTI, Jag XKE and other Porsches, also many Brit 50's models, also old style American HotRods...do most of the wrenching myself.
I def have the 'need for speed' in a tight resp machine.

I've wanted a 911 since I was 10. I could have bought one much sooner but I never saw much point to owning one on this continent with our turtle-speed highways and corrupt cash grab speed traps.

Then 42 years later when a cell phone yapping inbred of a kid took me and my motorcycle out, I figured life can be short.

I left school at 16 and worked in construction ever since.

It was a good friend of mine that got me in to fine cars, he didn't finish school at 16. He would always let me drive his cars on sunny sunday afternoons in the kent country side. That's when I knew I had to get me a Porsche.

I've started to grow obsessed with the Panamera; especially 2010-2013. I'm currently not working right now but am looking to apply to college within a year or so for Aircraft maintenance. I've done a little research and I could easily earn up to 69-72k. I'm starting with entry-level first off..so I wouldn't be able to afford one while being low on the totem pole so to speak. Currently, I'm 25 going to be 26 this upcoming June. I'm gonna reach that goal of owning a Panamera later in life and I can't wait ^-^
