Extreme Garage Makeover!

Extreme Garage Makeover!
Help me build my dream garage! I'm in the process of building a home. I'm going to be limited to a two-car garage with deminsions of 23-4 x 23-8. I've attached the suggested floor plan but it can be redesigned using about the same deminisions. One thing that I will have to change is the entry to the garage. The garage door has to be at the north end of the floor plan that's shown. Hope that make sense.
So, here's where I'd really like your help & advice. Particularly those of you that have built or remodeled garages. A little background: First, I'm a single mom so I don't have an unlimited budget here. Second, my primary need for the garage will be for maintenance and minor repairs on my GT3 (changing oil, flushing/bleeding brakes & clutch, droping brake pads in, etc). On that note, anyone know how I can get my hands on the technical manual for my car - 996 GT3 - 2004... Speed Yellow . In your opinion, is a lift necessary? I'd like one because I think it'd be too cool to have a lift but not sure with what I'm going to be doing if it's really necessary.
I think that's about it. Let me hear your ideas! Winning design gets a cool garage party in their honor!
Thanks,
Marilynn

Cayman clubbers def. had the right ideas. In summary...
6" concrete slab that is level,
12' ceilings so you can put the car up fully,
place the lift forward enough so you can raise the car without interfering with the raised garage door/openers,
plenty of outlets, including 220....
heat definately, water if you can...
compressor isolated, but vented,
Tv and beer fridge.
I love my shop. It is sanctuary for me.
