Say I wanted to...Buy a Porsche 959

Of the 330+ produced and currently valued in the $500,000.00 price range, I'd start by getting a suitcase large enough to hold a half million in cash.
Once you have accomplished this and the suitcase is stocked, I'd find a 959 owner and ask if they are interested in selling.
I know where a 959 is in Durham, NC and the owner's name.
If you should succeed, I'll exchange my finder's fee for a test drive.

A 959 can be obtained for about $250k US right now but be very careful because these are VERY high maintenance cars. They can consistently and quickly run repair bills well past the $10-30k range depending on the issue/s. The other item to look out for is legalizing the car for the US market, which can also be VERY costly.

Symbolic motors in San Diego had one a while back on their showroom floor. And I've seen another in their shop up on a lift. Not showing any on their website, however.... http://www.symbolicmotors.com/

you don't HAVE to legalize it for the USA, just depends on intentions. road use yes, track use, no. just have to obtain the title and the state will check the odometer every yr or so, and you have to log all tracks you go to, and how many laps/miles at each. for the show and display(NJ) allows 2500 miles a yr on the car, if not road leagle it may never touch road (not even at the show).
i went through all this bs with NJ for a 92 nissan gtr32...made it not worth my while.
to legalize, eh, just buy one that's already in the country legally, LEGALLY, that's the biggest word with the 959 and USA.
there was a silver one for sale near NYC a few weeks ago, didn't pay attention to where though, just took a pic a left.
