Thanks PKT 12113, Jon B, 993USMC and to all the guys/gals that are and were over there. It's the very least we can do.

PKT, you bring up a very good point, and I'll mention here again as I did in the original drive. Whether or not you believe we should be the over there or not isn't the issue here. I, as most others, have very strong opinions on the matter; but this isn't the time or place to air them. The important thing to remember is we at home can do a little extra to show support and make a difference, if only for a few extra minutes of family talk time.

WRT the cards, the 550 minute card gets you up to 150 minutes from Iraq or Afghanistan (so I've been told). Plus it's the easiest card to order and get delivered and into the hands of the service men and women. There may be better and cheaper; but this is the easiest for me, all things considered.

Thanks again and to those that have yet to donate, read the comments from the soldiers, know that what we're doing is appreciated, and give what you can.

Mike

We just made a purchase of 75, 550 pre-paid cards, for a total of $2107.35. Again these are good for approx 2 1/2 total talk time each from Iraq and Afghanistan. Donors, check your email.

I'm happy we can put smiles on at least 75 deserving individuals and hope you feel as good about this as I do. Hopefully, other donors will step in and we can do it again! Let's keep it going. Thanks again to all. Regards,

Mike

..thanks guys. The support from Rennlisters has been oustanding, outdoing any other group by a wide margin. I'd like to keep it going; so if there are others that can donate, please do. We're about half way to another 25 pack of cards.

I'm guessing that contribution have slowed down now here, so I'll turn off the site-wide announcement.

Good job.

Quick update. With several new donations and the residual from the last purchase, we're on our way to purchasing another 25 pack of pre-paid cards at the very least. If you can donate, please do. Thanks again to all contributors. It's made this effort very worthwhile.

Hi Folks;

The Troop Calls donation drive has been a great success, thanks mainly to the participation of Rennlisters, John D, and especially Randy V, our über moderator, who's help played a big role in getting us to where we are now. I hope we continue to support Rennlist's endeavors.

For those that are contemplating donations, I'll accept them until Friday night and then make the final purchase. After that, hold the thought for version III (winter holiday season). We've made a modest contribution that will make a big difference. Thanks again to all,

Mike
