Yeah, same with us. It must only be the ***-draggers that use porscha.

We should petition "the family" and have them change their pronunciation to better suit the 944 community.

And how do you say the numbers?

e.g. "Nine Four Four" or "Nine Forty-Four?" (Or Ninety-four Four?)

Usually nine forty four. But then I call my hopeful next car the "nine two eight" so who knows.

This is what I always say to this conversation.

Porscha sounds arrogant/snobby when you say it to someone who isn't a car person, or even some who are.
It makes me think of "more than you can afford.. ferrari" And frankly, the 944 is nothing to be arrogant about.

Also, I still dont get how you say the plural of porscha. porschas? It just sounds funny.

I'm well aware how it's really meant to be said, but I'll cling to my philosophy that porsh is just the American accent of Porsha.

Hell, every other race can come to our country and use their accent on our words and we have to sit there and accept it and be understanding.. Porsh is the word we choose to use our accent on .

Mine is. In fact just last Tuesday I lined up against a Veyron, Enzo, and Gallardo all leaving an Italian carshow and smoked them all. My car produces 3600HP at the left front tire without it even being hooked up to the drivetrain. No dyno could withstand a full-throttle run from the rear wheels but its estimated to be over 3 million ponies.

0-60 is estimated, on street tires in the wet, to be -3.5 seconds.

I always say Porsch-a... Even though I'm about the only one in my town that says it that way. Maybe I'll change to the hick way of saying it, I don't want to seem snobby.

And I think the British say "nine four four," but IMO "nine forty four" rolls of the tongue better.

I usually say Porsh, since (like so many) I figure the audience will either scratch their heads or roll their eyes. But with friends and family I definitely say Porsh-a.

It's a family name. The family pronounces it Porsh-a. Nuff' said.
