39, was a '86 951 in pristine condition, then I turned it into a track car and gained much flaming from the locals for making such a 'pretty' car so mean. Oddly enough, it wasn't through your typical midlife crisis which I obtained it, it was more serendipitous. I had a boat, bought a bigger boat, couldn't sell the smaller boat, had it on ebay for almost 3 months. Finally a fellow in Ohio called me up and said "I got a Porsche I'll trade ya". They were about the same value, he brought the 951 out on a car dolly, took the boat back home with him. Last year I sold it because of personal and health reasons, the new owner crashed it and destroyed it
Next year I'll get a 88-89 Turbo S and get back on the track.
I PROMISE!

1985 944, at age 38. When I was in the military, a friend let me drive his for the weekend...I went to church that Sunday at 110 mph. I wanted a Porsche forever after that, but thought they were WAY out of my price range (new, they were, but why I never considered buying one used, I'll never know -- doh).
One evening I was working an extra job, and a guy pulls up in a cocoa brown 944. "Nice car." "You like it? It's for sale." One thing led to another, a week later, I was driving my first Porsche. I still smile when I think of it, and of my brother's reaction when I told him. "You're lying. I hate you. Can I drive it?"
