Default Car Cover

Anyone have any recommendations for a car cover. Car is parked in garage but after a day there is a layer of dust on it. Saw a 4 Layer Fleece Lined Aqua Plush Car Cover by Beverly Bay on Amazon.com but not sure about it.

Although I'm sure there are several good brands, I've been using Covercraft covers for years and like them. They offer several different indoor (dust) covers, and several different outdoor covers. Go to www.covercraft.com for more information.

Porsche Tequipment European spec indoor car cover......MUCH better than the US spec Tequipment car covers.
Colored Porsche crest, storage bag, VERY soft lining, perfect fit. Bought one for the 996TT and 968Cab from SunsetImports (cost + 15%).

You can also buy the cover, in different colors, (same as Euro Tequipment, which only comes in light grey) from Gert at Carnewal (rennlist sponsor):

I've heard no complaints from anyone who has purchased these. Excellent indoor covers.

I don't know which spec I got but I am very impressed with my Tequipment indoor cover. I have had two other covers for two other cars and this is by far the smallest and softest. Well worth the few extra dollars.

Good to see this topic come up.

I know there are always pro's and con's about using covers; (they're better than having the car sit and bake in the hot sun vs. covers cause micro scratches when put on a dirty car, etc.)

In my case, there is no coverage at work during the day so she has to sit out. Hence, I have an outdoor tequipment cover for my '96 993 that fits snug.

I've got a few questions...ok, more than a few.

1 - Do you just drive straight in, put the cover on and walk away or give it some time to cool off?

2 - Do you roll it up as most instructions indicate or just whip it off and stuff it in, trying not to create more scratches during rolling?

3 - How often do you wash the cover?

4 - Do you pull yours down over the warm tailpipes or 3/4 of the way?

5 - Do you apply anything to the cover itself periodically to help it protect the car?

How do you use your cover?

1. Cool off a few minutes.
2. Fold lengthwise, then 'roll' front and back of cover towards the center of the roof.
3. Dry clean only.....or a cold water Woolite hand wash
4. Down over warm tailpipes.
5. No

Indoor storage only.

I have the Porsche cover for mine and love it. It's an indoor cover, though.
