From my observations in the PCA different people gravitate to different events:
Top Guns: club race, cup cars
Elitists: concour their 356 or 959
Proud Patrons: concour their 911 Porsches
Bon Vivants: DE drivers, all models
Fantasists: some DE drivers
Luckily the PCA and Porsche ownership in general is a big tent.

I could never be a top gun before I got my aircraft. Now alas that 's what I am(sometimes to the dismay of honda oddessey owners) Like every top gun I have to keep flying until someone shoots me down. Who gives a crap about being noticed, I want to go fast.

I definitely think there should be a "driver" category. There's nothing like the feeling of driving a truly telepathic car, one that transmits information to the driver as if the contact patches are the driver's fingertips and the suspension pivots are the driver's joints, a car that seems to respond to control inputs almost before they are made.

See: Thrills ~ A Porsche is excitement
Wouldn’t that be a means of heightening the excitement in your life?
A pickup truck driver is a driver, a school bus driver is a driver, a racecar driver, well a racecar driver probably drives a Porsche!

For some of us the onset of winter brings that emotion laden task of storing the Porsche for the winter. This is a somber event. It is best done alone so one may share those last moments with the Porsche without distraction. And, this way if one gets too emotional about it the family and friends won't be there to witness it and become convinced you really have lost it.
There appear to be several very different schools of thought on winter storage of Porsche's. I've yet to see a definitive statement on this topic. In general the schools of thought cover increasing amounts of work, both in the Fall and the Spring. The schools of thought I've seen include:
* Drive it, don't store it
* Store it, but keep it alive
* Preserve it until Spring
We'll cover each here. But we'll spend most time on preservation techniques. If you have any other suggestions, send them in and I'll include them here, with due credit of course.

Is there a proper name for these two types of Porsche people?
Users vs: Pamperers?
I saw this during the Hot Rod era. At first you had drivers putting V8's in pre war cars, seeking a better power to weight ratio and more speed. And a few customs with fantastic paint. Then when someone stuck a new V8, into a small good handling foreign sports car. All Hot Rods became customs. Lack of old car aerodynamics limited top speeds, and the sports cars had plenty of horsepower per pound. All that was left to do was detail old Hot Rods. It is the same here, some Porsche drivers love to drive in the low adhesion conditions of ice and snow, and others are terrified of it. What do they call them: racers / detailers?
What do you think we should call these two types?
Type One
