You have to be Rennlist member to access Off Topic. Some might argue that the cost of membership is worth it for access to the Off Topic threads alone!

Working as a software tester/production assistant for Real Networks in the Real Arcade division. It's decent cash, alot better than my few years unemployed after the Dot Com bubble burst. I am currently working on my future career...writing. I just got my '92 968, and looking forward to my new obsession of Porsches. My next one will definately be of the 911 flavor, probably a 993 C4S.

I'm 21y/o and currently working as a residential real estate appraiser. There's a large fluctuation in salary from ~$50-100k/yr due to changes in the market. I currently own a '66 911 and '86 951. I purchased my 951 not that long ago, and within 6 months of owning it have already put 33k miles on it due to my job!!! I'm not selling either of my current Porsches, but hope to add a 930, 964, 965, 993 or 993TT to my stable within the next year(I can't make up my mind, I want them all!). I would always be happy to make more than I currently am, but I think I'm doing alright for being a 21y/o, making $70k+/yr, not having any kids, no major debts, owning 2 Porsches, etc.

Just turned 24 recently, working as an engineer. Drive a 99 996 cab w/some mods. My salary is good for my age, but looking to get an MBA to really jumpstart the career. Working towards applying to a top school in a couple of years.

Cool

I retired last year after too many years as a high school Assistant Principal. I always loved the looks of 944's, so I started looking for one in my last semester of work as a retirement gift for myself and motivation to do one last semester. Found the one to die for on E-Bay (red '86 with 41k miles, 1-owner, all records). Tried to bid but the system wouldn't accept my bids for some reason. Watched it disappear off the site...Mucho disappointed!! Bought a black
'86 locally (in decent condition, but not my dream car). Two weeks later the original 41k car mystically appears on E-Bay again! The reserve had not been met in the original auction. I contacted the owner by phone in Pittsburgh and kept in touch as the auction wound down. The highest bid fell just short of his price, I contacted him while he was on a cruise in the Caribbean, he had two other people talking to him on the phone! He said he would call me back in 45 minutes after talking to the other people interested. He called back, offered me the car, I agreed to his price, (what's a guy to do...) it was mine! Had it shipped to Florida with Inner City Lines. It was everything he said it was and more! Show car condition. Then I went to a PCA Club Race at Sebring and got the bug to race again (I raced SCCA back in the netherlands of the 70's), but the black 944 was in no condition, and the red 944's condition was far too nice to risk on the track. Sooooo, now I own a 1981 911SC RS track car--super modified and fast! Just ran it at Sebring yesterday in a Drivers Ed event. Tomorrow I pick up my black 944 which is...now Guards Red and done by a local Porsche body/paint meister. Now this Porsche sickness has run amuck, and I have to figure out how to feed the habit...3 Porsches, an Expedition tow- vehicle for the 911, and a desire to go Club Racing...All $$$ contributions gladly accepted so I don't have to skip meals!!

Pix of the 911 on-track at Sebring, the 944's, 12-Hours of Sebring, Rolex 24 at Daytona, Club Racing, Le Mans Classic, Rennsport Reunion II, many others (over 450 pix) on my website: groups.msn.com/porschelovers--pca. Enjoy!
Regards to all you other Porsche fanatics, Doug

I agree with Cabman, salary is not important (at least for public conversation!)...its what you do with it.

34 and now I would say I am a Realestate investor. My wife and I own 15 houses, 5 vacant lots (one's at the beach, second row with a beautiful view!). Income.....no idea! Its all passive at this point. Drive a 1997 993 C4S and like my buddy who works for Tony Robbins I "live my life with passion". Do what I want, when I want, have abeautiful little girl and couldn't ask for much more out of this life.

25, own two businesses... C Rife Designs (graphic/web design) and Radars for Rent (auto gadget rental service).

Spectated one autocross about three years ago and fell in love with racing, it's in my blood. Sold my Xterra and bought my Boxster that week and been racing her since.

Talking

39, ER Physician, more than I spend. Never been a car fanatic. With the exception of my first car, a 1970 Jeep CJ5, I can't say I've ever been enamored with a car. Airplanes are an entirely different story. Anyway, my 1999 E320 has 170k miles on it, runs like a champ and has AWD which is good here in the great lakes, but driving to work 35 min each way is such a bore. I started thinking about getting a summer car and reserve the 4matic for winter. As I think back to my HS days and the cars I dreamed about, a p-car dream was re-born. I'm now two weeks into ownership of an 87 930 and loving every single minute of it. I'm like a 15 year old going out to the garage to check on it. Sitting in it for no good reason. Looking for excuses to go on an errand, etc. I seriously haven't had this much fun driving in 23 years. I never had the opportunity to drive a Porsche until last month and I'm hooked! The Whale Tail was the rage when I was in HS, and now I love it even more now that it's 20+ years later and the classic look of the car is even more stunning today, IMHO. First trip to the sporting goods store and a 14 y/o kid says "nice car!" This kid wasn't even alive when my 930 was born but he knows it when he sees it. I'm learning a ton on this forum and thanks all of you. My name is Dave and I'm.....
