Default Painting Car a Reflective Chrome/ALuminum?

Hey guys,

I want to paint my Vehicle a Very very Reflective silver.

I am wondering if it is illegal for the obvious reasons of Shine?

Let me give you an example of what I want to do. (this car is aluminum)

Those aluminum shiny milk trucks don't seem to have any problems.

Thanks in advance,

Eli

Yea the Shelby GR 1

It has over 600 horsepower in it, and doors that open like a lamborghini's.

Well I'm going to look into the color further. Ask a few officers what they think. haha.

Default for reflective surface, see Audi AVUS

Audi made a car with a finish like that in the late 80's or early 90's.

If I recall, it was aluminum with a clear coat. Looked awesome from any angle.

I've never seen a painting technique that would rival this. However, I guess you could have your car chrome plated.

Did y'all see that mirror-encrusted 356 (64 SC coupe IIRC) that was up on ebay for $300k as a "art project"?

I can't seem to find it now, but a few months ago there were pics of a BMW M3 that had been painted with that type of paint. It was rather "interesting".

If I can find the link, I'll post it.

Yea, the shelby Gr1 pics I posted in this thread are an aluminum body, not Chrome plated.

Chrome plated would be extremely heavy. I already have a site that gives a good chrome paint for the job. http://alsacorp.com/chrome.htm (MirraChrome) Product

That alsa site has some pretty wild paints. I wonder how the heat sensitive paint or the glow in the dark paint would look on our cars?

I don't think I have ever seen anything in any vehicle code about prohibitions on reflective paint. Check CA Vehicle Code to be certain.
