Default Sonic & Ultralsonic devices for mice

After having one recently purchased car that I needed to replace wiring because PO had a mouse problem.

Do these Sonic devices really work to deter for mice ? If you have any personal feedback, pls let me know.

I have always used moth *****, bounty sheets in the past and it worked fine, but guess thinking about extra step as the sonic seem to be harmless to rodents but do chase them away - if one believes the marketing. TIA.

I tried mothballs winter of 2011-2012. Found grain and mouse turds right next to the morhballs. And the car smelled all summer. I will try scented dryer sheets this winter and may try ther sonic repellers. They are CLAIMED to work, and a small enclosed space like a trunk or interior should be the ideal place for them to work. But I would rather not have to use electricity all winter - ?
