I bought my first Porsche when I was 20, it was a new Boxster. My insurance was almost $300 a month. My second Porsche is a 2005 911. I'm 27 now and my insurance is $120 a month.

Default First car as a Porsche

I have a little experience with this one. I got a fixer up 928 when I was 17...paid $5000 for it. Since then I have sunk about $15000 in upgrades and keeping it running. Today it is still worth only about $5000. Not a very good return on your money.

That being said I wouldn't go back and change it if I could. I will never sell that car and will continue to put money in it. You just can't put a price on some things in life and a Porsche is one of them.

I think you would be good getting something as a reliable daily driver and buying a Porsche for fun...if you can afford to do that. I think about any model would be good to start with...you might want to stay away from the 924. I know some people might disagree with me but I think the 928 is the best bang for your buck Porsche that's out there. The older ones won't kill any Mustangs but the Mustang drivers don't need to know that. They'll be envious because you have that crest on your hood. The other thing about the 928 is that you don't see them everyday like the 911, 944, 924, or Boxster. GOOD LUCK!
