Hello all,
I found a 2008 987.1 Cayman S manual for sale in my region. It only has 55k KMs. Dealer is asking for CAD $43K. I asked the dealer to take the car to a third party and perform a PPI and Bore Scope.
According to available records:
PPI Results (still waiting for bore scope results)
My take is that, if the service record is accurate and the last service was done in 2018, then the small oil leak and (disgusting) rat nest can be explained by the car not being driven for long periods of time. However, the major red flag for me is the repaint, airbag light, and non-Porsche markings on the engine, which all leads to the suspicion that this car has been in an accident. However the shop mentioned they didn't see any damage to the car frame.
Any thoughts on the results? What attracted me was the low mileage, but those findings are also concerning. Thanks!

According to available records:
- The car only had 1 previous owner.
[*=start]The last service record was from 2018 at 44k km
[*=start]No accidents
PPI Results (still waiting for bore scope results)
- A small oil leak from (maybe) IMS or RMS, they dont know for sure unless they it take apart
- Found a rat nest in the engine bay
- The car was repainted
- Airbag light is on
- They found blue (paint?) marks on the engine, which they believe did not belong to Porsche. They suggested it might be from an engine rebuild or replacement engine.
- The car drove well and smooth during test drive.

Run, do not walk, from this car.
