Default Porsche Auto Insurance Notice of Non-Renewal

Got a letter from Porsche Auto Insurance stating "Due to temporary circumstances beyond our control (....) we are unable to offer renewal of your (...) insurance policy". Temporary circumstances? Beyond control? I wonder what that really means. Probably a profitability issue. Otherwise they would have given the real reason. Poor communication.

They closed new applications some time ago. I imagine they're trying to scale down or sell off the insurance business.

It may not apply here, also this is speculation, but I’ve had an insurance provider “drop” me (they did put me in touch with a different underwriter who provided coverage) when I moved to a new state. Perhaps they’re just dropping coverage for your state specifically. Have you tried talking to them?

Have you had any claims? If so how many and what were they for?

people trade their car in for certain model KIA and they get dropped, so easy to steal.

I wonder if this is a general state related issue (I’m in Arizona) or if certain customers are targeted. I’ve had one windshield claim, which seems kind of a low bar for dropping someone.

OK, I just spoke with them. The issue is that the career they are using in Arizona and a few other states is no longer issuing auto insurance. They are looking for new carriers and for AZ they have found one. They will send out new information on how to renew with their new carrier shortly. So wasn't my windshield
They mentioned that there may be delays or issues finding a new carrier for some states, but didn't tell me which ones. I'll see how this impacts my cost going forward and will compare with Hagerty.

Just got the attached letter, a $500 gift card and a small Porsche Design wallet. Nice gesture. Still waiting for a renewal letter from the new carrier in AZ as mentioned in my post above. Or does this mean that things changed again?
