Well, I am currently 24 days & 9,346 miles down the road & in the home stretch to Nola. Ticket free thanks to the Escort Redline 360. I have lost count of the saves.
Do I have to tell you my opinion on which detector?

Buying a radar detector is so hard I just can't decide. My driving is done NYC I use waze. Once i get out of the city i am not sure which one to buy Redline 360C or Uniden R8. I had the Escort Maxcam 360C I returned it because the combo and size didn't work for me. Looking for some advice.
Thank you

Get the R8 somewhere you can return it (Best Buy) and try it. I did it after using the V1 forever I like the R8 now.

Choosing the right radar detector for your 911 can greatly enhance your driving experience. If you're looking to explore trade car options near Staten Island, consider visiting a reputable dealership. They might have trade-in choices that include the latest radar detection technology to keep you informed and safe on the road. Happy car hunting, and may you find the perfect radar detector and the perfect trade car to complement your 911 driving experience! 🚗🛰️

I have the Escort Redline Ci360c that was installed by MusicarNW. It was a bit spendy, but NOT 10K! I was also a beautiful install!.
You can see similar pictures on their flickr account: About Musicar Northwest | Flickr
I have a manual transmission and the mute button is the 911 logo below the shifter. You can't even tell there is a button there!
There was no Uniden system when I installed mine, but I have no regrets. My car is a daily driver and I get very few false alerts.
If you can afford a built in unit...get it! They are much nicer. IMHO

I run an escort redline and live in Montana. It works good if there is traffic around, but yesterday I got a ticket for going 7 over . In Montana or anywhere, your detector is not going to save you if there is no traffic and the officer is using instant on. Waze only works in a state with lots of people using it. I was hit when he came over the top of the hill, and instant on, boom done. My own fault because there were no cars in front of me.

Admittedly have not owned many RDs so not able to compare.
Lengthy research led me to the Uniden R7 with firmware upgrades. (search for mittheru at https://www.rdforum.org/threads/122790/ )
The R7 is an amazing performing little box at 2/3 the price of the top-priced models.
A great bang for the buck. Lacks integration but simplicity is what I was looking for. Plug and play.
We travel the highway a lot. This thing finds the threat from another zip code! LOL.
The upgraded software from Mittheru that we found while scouring rdforum.org silenced most false alarms and really enhanced performance for our uses. HTH

After years of using a Valentine 1 and then a Radenso Pro M, I am finding the Escort Redline 360c amazingly quiet and very accurate. I am using the settings from Vortex that are available on the web. I have been using it about 8 months and if it goes off, a LEO is there. And the arrows are nice to help you find them. It has already saved my bacon more than once and paid for itself. I also like the auto lockout feature for doors/signs/etc and find it works seamlessly. And I no longer get the annoying BSM chirps from Honda CRV's (they are everywhere here in Florida) like I did with the Radenso. A bit pricey but the Escort 360c is worth every dime. Combine it with Waze and enjoy the quiet.

I have: https://k40.com/product/platinum360-...adar-detector/
With radar defuser it is $2000 plus installation which is quite involved. That's a lot (but it came with my car). I like most the police-like flashing sequential blue lights behind the instrument panel...good visual alert (and you can disable the annoying chirp)

I agree with this and had a similar solution occur in NY state. After driving many years ( going back to the original FuzzBuster in the mid 70s) with a RD, I think that they are now actuality worse than worthless. The police now have better technology that even the best RD can’t protect against. Based on my experience and “research” (couldn’t find much that was definitive), I’ve concluded that I’m less likely to get a ticket if I don’t have a RD.
At least around here, cops exclusively use instant-on. I don’t think any new RD can protect against that. Sure, if a cop happens to fire at a car well ahead of you, you may pick that up. But if you’re within fairly dense traffic, your chances of getting a ticket are minimal anyway. Plus who speeds through traffic?? When the roads are clear (as they commonly are), I drive fast. That’s when I need protection. But that’s where RDs no longer seem to work.

Still using the suction cup mount in my 911. Probably get a Blendmount and Mirror Tap eventually but the suction cup works great. I have like 3 old Blendmounts now. Wish they did trade-ins. ha. If somebody did a cheaper version, they would kill it.
