It has only four-cylinders but is also one of the rarest of all Porsches. Meet the unique 968 Turbo S.

Since they only sold 14 of them and are as rare as hens' teeth, it's gotta be beaucoup money. Any for-sale adds I could find where in Europe, mostly in Germany, and had 'POA' prices. Nothing popped up in the history of BaT, Barrett-Jackson, etc.

Back in 2003 I got to spend an afternoon driving what was effectively a replica 968 Turbo (with a 3L turbo motor) built by PowerHaus in Scottsdale, AZ.

KKK K29 turbo (the 968 Turbo used a modified K26), cross-drilled crank, 8.8:1 compression ratio, 993TT brakes, etc. - it yielded nearly 400 bhp on 91-octane. By modern stands, no big deal. But back in the day it was brilliant.

I'd give a major limb to get a hold of an original 968 Turbo S...

Karl.

WOW- I had no idea they were that rare. Always liked the 968 though and the TS version sounds killer.

The 968 is rare vs many Porsches humorously because it did not sell well. The Club Sport, and Sport versions were not sold in the US. These were lighter in weight and had less "luxury" items like electric seats. Likewise the Turbo S or the rarest of all the Turbo RS. Only 4 cars Turbo RS cars were made. A track only version of the Turbo S.

I understand one or two imported factory 968 Turbo S may have traded in 2019 for about one million US Dollars in the US.

Wow, that IS rare! And beautiful and amazing machinery. 'Price on Request' means its well beyond 99% of the population that can afford it.
