I'm sorry, but the absurdity of writing an article because someone claims to have heard something from someone who claims to have heard something is too much. I suspect there is no anonymous source, but by claiming such it's easy to then write whatever sensationalist bull**** will get views.

The most frequent intro to baseless gossip is, "I heard".

To be fair, it sounds just absurd enough to most certainly be something Trump would say.

Fair point, though I would think Trump is smart enough to know that several German OEM's actually build some of their cars in the USA. He'd have to know that pushing German OEM's out of the USA would take jobs from the American work force.

Yes, perhaps the best thing going for certain of the German auto manufacturers is the number of red MAGA hats worn by their factory employees in the Southeast US. And of course this could all be part of his common negotiating strategy where he napalms respect and diplomacy in his opening salvo.

But that not withstanding, but Trump is notoriously averse to research and details and prefers a show over legitimate discourse.

Woohoo, send all the USA’s Porsche’s to Canada. We’ll take them.

Oh man the article starts with 'someone heard unnamed source.' The state of media today is shameful. Hopefully the readers are smart enough to be critical of what they read instead of eating it up.

Whether or not Trump (or any self-serving politician) knows something does not matter if the common people do not, and can be manipulated by foolish statements.

Trump bump for his threatened 20% tax on European-assembled cars.

What's another 20% on top of a new 911 anyway?
