Car is currently metallic black- to be honest I'm not 100 % sure what original color is, I can find traces of a greenish bronze color that is difficult to capture with a camera -I'll post what pics I have. This is a true paint to sample car- original owner sent a wrench to Porsche and said paint my car this color - can't make this stuff up. I've contacted porsche to no avail- I've been told that they keep samples of all PTS cars but they insist they have no records. Paint code is 707 - only reference is to a 707 is a aquamarine used on 356's in 50's. I spoke at length with original owners wife and she was going to look for pictures of car but i never heard back. It has always been my intention to get car re-painted original color - I currently have three cars in various stages of restoration and another one qued up, it's gotten a little out of hand- but in a good way.

Here are a couple of pics I have that show current color next to what I believe to be original paint.

The closet color I have seen is tobacco brown metallic- maybe Porsche liked this color and decided to add to available colors in 1979-
