Someone was just selling one for 400, with 14 people in line ... If you come down in price a little, I'll hop on it for sure

Hey Paulie, yeah, that was an interesting thread.

This one has the black Ion Plated Metal Band, not the rubber one;
hence, the price difference. no harm done. on the Suncoast site, $550 plus shipping and sales taxes in FL.

A different watch was being sold in that thread. It was black and said Porsche on it. But otherwise a different watch.

Another watch with lotsa buttons and little faces for timing your quarter mile or last lap or whatever....puleeze. Didn't Porsche make a watch without all the kitch?

Think abuut it guys (and gals), who really uses any of that when you're driving?? I flew Air Force fighters in three theaters for 10 years and never once used any of that stuff in timing low level navigation runs...and that was before GPS.

I''d like to see a Porsche Design watch with just a simple, clean design without all the bells and whistles. TAG has some and they look great. Guess I need to buy one of those?

By all means, I agree with you; I was never a fan of all those tiny *** additional timers and what not. But it's the overall look and construction of this watch that makes it a nice watch. The black metal band and size of the watch are ideal. Porsche Design, Driver's Selection put forth some effort to design this watch. I picked up a Citizen Eco Drive to replace this one ( half the price)
A simple, clean design.... Rolex Sub, PAM, Oris, Smith's, and numerous others...

What are you talking about. The stopwatch feature is invaluable for boiling eggs
Personally I think the dials make the face 'interesting'. May not have much practical everyday use but its got that classic design. IMO its the combo analog/digital displays that look a complete mess.

I think it is not good practice to "comment on high pricing" in for sale postings as long as people do not obviously take advantage ("rip off"). Just put yourself into the shoes of the seller ...
