Man i am thinking hard about it, but buying the trailer essentially means i need to buy a bigger truck.. dont think i trust my Cherokee to be towing, let alone trying to stop the trailer and my 951..

Not sure what your Cherokee's tow rating is. But the Trailex trailer's surge brake unit activates another set of brakes on the trailer, as well for stopping. When the tow vehicle hits the brakes, as the trailer tries to push against the tow vehicle, the surge unit is compressed which in turn feeds brake fluid to the trailers brakes to engage. Also, a Trailex is very light compared to a steel trailer. Figure 1K lbs for the trailer, 3K for the 951. So anything over 4K on your Cherokee's tow rating is room for people, tools, spares, etc.

Tony, it is rated at 5000lbs but honestly dont think i would trust it, especially on trips where i will see alot of elevation change (Lime Rock and Pocono in particular come to mind). Also the relatively short wheel base of the Cherokee probably would make it a bit squirrely. Still very tempted but i doubt it will still be available when i get home in 4 weeks!
