The owner fab'd a nice OEM looking shelf in the front trunk for the amp.
Wood shelf with aluminum frame, and upholstered in matching black carpet.

I am not a huge stereo guy, and just want a radio, and something to plug the ipod into. I also want a simple unit with a built in amp, so I can liberate the front trunk space for road trips.
I will probably get another Alpine - the iDA X-305.

In answer to another question, I have the remote, I downloaded the manuals online, but I do not have the paper manuals and boxes.
I would upload the manuals but the attachment limit is 146kb and the amp manual is about 888kb while the radio manual is about 770kb.
