Default 88 944 Turbo "Roller"/Project

I have an '88 944 Turbo "roller" for sale. I say "roller" because I will include the long block which is in need of rebuild. I am asking $2000. This was a DE/street car that was in the process of a teardown & rebuild. I have found another car and will need this one gone. Prefer local pickup but can assist with shipping logistics if needed. Buyer to pay shipping. Car is garaged and located in MA.

Body/Interior:
1988 944 Turbo non-S. Nile Green/Champagne. I've converted the interior over to black with the exception of the dash and seats. Door panels need recovering. Interior has lightweight Perlon felt 'RS' style carpet which needs completing. Autopower roll bar. Plexiglass quarter windows (installed) and side windows (not installed but included). Cruise and A/C deleted.
Original paint is decent with a few small scratches/scrapes and minor dings. Small dent on passenger door. Headlamp assembly was removed for Carrera GTS-type fixed lamps (not included). I will include the original flip-up assembly. Also comes with euro fogs wired to separate switch and relay.

Suspension/Steering:
Front suspension has Elephant racing monoballs & billet caster blocks installed. 968 M030 anti-roll bar with Delrin bushings. 968 air cooling deflectors. New OEM engine mounts.
Rear suspension has Racer's Edge upper & lower torsion tube mounts and bushings (not installed). 968 M030 3-way anti-roll bar with Racer's Edge billet mounting blocks and Delrin bushings.
OE manual steering rack with new correct tie rods, boots, and bushings.
5/33 bias valve, stainless braided lines, and a few brand new hard lines. New Porterfield carbon pads. 16" Phone dials, previously refinished, in good shape.
Car will come with stock Boge suspension. *Buyer will have option of purchasing complete Leda oil single-adjustable coilover setup with shock mounts and monoball upper mounts. This setup is sprung & valved for use without torsion bars.*

Engine/Transaxle:
Engine had poor compression and leakdown particularly on #1 cylinder. Teardown shows bad scoring on #1. Other cylinders look good. Block has been completely cleaned and torn down to the crank & girdle. Original head requires rebuild. I will include block & head with sale. Comes with all new coolant hoses & reservoir.
Transaxle is in good shape with factory cooler. Open diff. Cleaned and has several new gaskets and correct hardware. Wrightwood racing gasket set included. Also includes new factory mount.

I have a ton of new parts (body, engine & running gear, brakes, interior) that will be offered to the buyer at additional cost.

Overall this is a solid car with a clean title that will make someone a nice project. Or part out the goodies and sell the shell. Please PM or email me at 'verve91 at gmail dot com' if you're interested or have any questions.

Pic from before the teardown:

Wow, good deal on a rare color. Tempted to buy it and put the long block I have for sale in it, but I don't need another project right now.

I hear that...! Bought another car with no more room in the garage.

All the Elephant/Racer's Edge suspension pieces are new. The optional Ledas have 6 or 7 track sessions on them.

Go for it, Mike!

I'd be interested... if I didn't currently have too many projects going on.

Is it an ABS car?

Nope, no ABS.
IIRC the chassis has about 140k on it (I knew I forgot to mention something....duh!)

Seriously, this car has what my car doesn't and my car has what this one needs. Like a puzzle piece

Can ABS be retrofitted? My 87 has it and if it were easy enough...

ABS can be retrofitted, Oddjob has done it on his track car.
