The 40 Jahre is a normally-aspirated, rear-wheel drive, narrow-body 996 model Carrera with a myriad of aesthetic and performance enhancements, including the vaunted X51 engine package, natural grey full-leather interior, limited-slip differential, shot-blasted and polished 18” Carrera II lightweight wheels, turbo front bumper with painted air-inlets, aluminum-trim rings on the instrument cluster, and M030 suspension (outside of North America the cars had ROW030, which was lowered). All of the 40 Jahre cars were finished in GT Silver exterior paint, a color exclusive to the 40 Jahre and the Carrera GT (GT Silver became an extra-cost option on 911 cars in later years). In addition, a four-piece luggage set made from the same leather as the car’s interior was delivered with each new 40 Jahre. One large and one small travel luggage, key pouch and wallet complete the set.
