SCAM ALERT !!!!!!! SCAM ALERT !!!!! HASAN CHOWDURY
Buyers beware ..............
I have recently been the victim of a scam on here
I posted on the forum that I wanted a set of K16 turbo chargers for my 996.I have added the pictures that where sent to me.
I had a reply from a member with the goods!
All looked well ...........
After a few emails between us I decided to make the purchase.
He did ask me to pay him via PayPal through the friends and family option as he didnt want to pay the fees.Which I did (do not do this!!!!!!)
Luckily for me i did put a note on the transaction stating the payment was for the turbo chargers i did recieve a full refund but i think i was extremely lucky !
The name on the PayPal payment was
Mr HASAN CHOWDURY
The email address was **********************

Sorry for your trouble...
some rules of the road:
1) don't do business with a new member with little to no posts. Do a search to see what they have posted to make sure they haven't posted gibberish or low content posts to get their count up.
2) don't take the business immediately to email. Use the for sale thread, then use private messages, especially if they have zero posts
3) Use PayPal, but NEVER friends and family. Make them eat the charge if they want the sale, or eat it yourself. Consider it insurance.
4) Do a Google image search or their photos they have posted. It will show if they stole them from. eBay or a message board. As a technique, I like to post a card with my forum handle written on it with the product to show it's authentic. You can always ask the seller to do that.

Visa refunded me they looked at my case and refunded me straight away
PayPal weren't interested because I done the transaction via friends and family
Visa did say that if I hadn't stated what the payment was for they wouldn't of helped me.
very lucky I got my money back through Visa
PayPal wasnt any help I'm afraid

Been scammed before in the same way, also, NEVER send payment through Zelle/Venmo. They will not back your claim even with the information. Now all of my purchases/sells are with buyer protection, most of the time I just eat the fee. Once you do the buyer/seller protection usually the scammer will scare off or completely back out of a purchase (happened to me before)

Never do friends and family, how are people still this new ???
If the seller is worried about the fee either offer to add a little and split the fee or walk away.
Unbelievable

its not actually unbelievable because we all thought that we transacting with a trusted Rennlist member with a solid history, nobody would do it with someone who they dont know
