It was an early start (up at 4a and on the road by 5:15.) It was great meeting some Rennlisters. My son was in heaven with all the P-cars and took a lot of pics, of course not one of mine. I did find one that Kevin Rohrer had on his photobucket pics. Below are some of the ones we took.

Next time I think I would take more picts of what's going on in the event rather than just the individual cars.

Sorry I missed you. The Rennlisters' Gathering was a very popular among all of us and I gave Ron Thomas kudos several times for the great treatment we got....very special. Will organize it next year too. Lots of room in the elementary school parking lot so the rest of you come on down.

BTW Kevin, when I flew fighters in the Air Force we were told that hydroplaning occurs at a speed equal to 9 times the square root of tire pressure. So if you're running 36 psi, getting down below 54 mph was a good idea. Just sayin.

Hope you can join us all next year.

Wonder why plates are out of state? They live in Ohio.

Rennlisters - made it back to Atlanta late last night. Had a blast looking at all the enthusiastic P-Car owners. Actually found myself detailing the car at 6:15am ..... Getting ready for a great day. Will be looking forward to the trip next year.

Dan - thanks for the efforts and getting us in the middle row of the middle of the event. We were the envy of the entire show.

Graham lives just north of Indianapolis. I've been to his home, it is quite nice.

Bobby does live in Ohio, if I recall correctly, however, he keeps most of his collection in the Chicagoland area.

Nice to know. But if this is true, why isn't vehicle weight and tire patch surface area taken into account?

Reaching back 40 years to my college physics I think total friction is the product of "F-the normal force" (the weight on the tire or vehicle weight acting perpendicular to the surface of the road) and "mu" (greek letter symbolizing coefficient of friction of the tire...a function of rubber composition, tread design, etc). So tire patch size, to the extent it only effects "mu", is otherwise not a factor.

The hydroplaning equation (nine times the square root) is, of course, only an approximation but it seems to have been fairly accurate in his case. It's worked pretty well for me over the years too.

The red 997 C2S Cabrio in one of the pics that MPD425 posted is mine.


I tried to take a picture of all of the cars there, it took a while. With my wife and grandson with me, I didn't take the time and some were a little blurry. I think I only got 288 cars, just a few short..LOL
After I got home, I realized my camera setting was on "vivid" and the colors were all wrong. Next year, I should be ready.
I think my license plate holder got more attention than the car.
